It's Beth here, I am currently in South Vietnam exploring Temples in the coastal town of Vung Tau. It is my first visit to Vietnam, my trip is overshadowed by the massive devastation further North.

Communities Devastated by Flooding in 2025
More than 18 typhons and tropical depressions have hit Vietnam, mostly the Central region. Rainfall exceeded 1.9m (6ft 2 ins) in some locations – levels unseen in the region since 1993. Over 400 people have died, 100s of 1000s of homes have been destroyed, livelihoods, crops, and infrastructure totally ruined.
Many families have lost everything.....
Officials estimate damage of over economic losses of up to US$ 3 billion in five provinces.
YOUR SUPPORT WOULD BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED
A donation of:
$10 will deliver a 20 pound sack of rice
$20 will deliver emergency food supplies including rice and vegetables
$50 will purchase a package of pots, pans and bedding to families in temporary accommodation.
Walking locally I encountered Temple nuns and supporters enthusiastically engaged loading a truck with 1000s of containers of fresh water and 100s of sacks of rice. The day prior it was huge piles of clothing! Their focus, enthusiasm and comradery was profoundly inspiring.
I was witnessing that inexpressible relief that can be felt from deeply purposeful and timely generosity. And I wanted to contribute in some way.
