Steve Weller and Sean Allday have been training and running for 2 years now to help raise awareness and to help raise money for the less fortunate children of Vietnam. “We wanted to help Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation by raising money around our racing events. Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation does amazing work helping children find a home and get a quality education and we love being part of this great community” - Steve W.
ISPH staff, students and parents have been raising money for the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation for several years now and we wanted to continue the fundraising through to the end of the 2025 school year.
Steve has now achieved his goal of running a 100km ultra mountain trail race. He was 13th overall at the Vietnam Mountain Marathon (VMM) in Sapa September 2023. 2024 was a big racing year for Steve, he completed the 70 km Vietnam Trail Marathon (VTM) race in Moc Chau, and the 70 km Vietnam Ultra Marathon (VUM) on the trails of Mai Chau and the Helvellyn 57 km Sky Ultra in the UK back in July. In October, Steve ran the Vietnam Jungle Marathon (VJM) 50 km and was 14th overall, 12th male and 2nd in his age category. In November he ran 3 races, including 21km at VMM in Sapa, where Steve was 12th overall and 1st in his age category. "I recently competed my hardest races yet, the 100 km UTMB races in Malaysia and in Chiang Mai. These were both challenging races and I over came new adversities and challenges where I learned more valuable lessons in my ultra trail running journey" - Steve W.
Steve will continue to train on the peaks of Soc Son and Hoa Binh and on the streets around Park City Hanoi and any hill or mountain he can find in his travels.

Sean has now achieved his goal of running his first 50km ultra trail race. He was 55th overall at the Vietnam Mountain Marathon (VMM) in Sapa 2023. Sean will continue to train for more road and trail marathons.
