The work undertaken by Blue Dragon Children's Foundation is pretty incredible. A bit below about how I learned about them, followed by some information about their work with links, and then some suggestions about how you can assist.
In 2021 I read a book about an Australian fella travelling Asia, who mentions someone from his youth (Michael) who started the Blue Dragon support centre for street children in Hanoi, Vietnam. Serendipitously, a year later I picked up a used book about an American woman fulfilling her dying father's wish of starting a youth support centre in Vietnam. At the end of the book the author indicated the story is based on the real life work of Blue Dragon. I looked them up online, was touched by their homeless, support and rescue initiatives, and became a monthly donor.
The work done by Blue Dragon is awe inspiring. For over two decades, they have worked with street children to meet their basic daily needs for food, provided secure places for them to touch base and build community, and assisted them to plan and build a future. For about a decade they have also waded into unimaginable scenarios to rescue children, youth and women from sexual trafficking including across borders. More recently they are engaged in rescuing youth and adults who have been misled about employment opportunities and trafficked across borders as slaves sold into various criminal enterprises.

Having taken a sabbatical from work, and with Vietnam as one of my destinations, I met with some of the senior folks at Blue Dragon. When I heard that after operating their centre in Hanoi for over twenty years, they were now opening a second centre in Ho Chi Minh City, the thought of an awareness and fundraising motorcycle ride between the two cities took shape. I will spend a month meandering from the north to the south of Vietnam, travelling about 1,700 km, while meeting folks along the way and discussing the work of Blue Dragon. My ride will end at the new Blue Dragon centre for street youth in Ho Chi Minh City.
GOALS
Raise at least $3,364 which represents $2 for each of the 1,682 km travelled between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Have five (5) people sign up as monthly donors to Blue Dragon.
